Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to subtly throw jabs at the Ghana Armed Forces after a Police Intelligence-led operation arrested the alleged killers of the young soldier.
Trooper Imoro Sherrif was gruesomely killed by his assailants through multiple stabs at Ashaiman on March 4, 2023, when he was on his way to visit his parents in the vicinity.
Following the incident, the Military High Command sanctioned an operation aimed at arresting the perpetrators of the heinous crime. However, through the course of the operation, many residents suffered military brutality and torture and hence sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The action of the military has been widely condemned by many Ghanaians and civil society organizations describing the act as brutish, archaic, and barbaric.
In a swift development, although the brute force of the military failed to arrest the perpetrators of the crime, the Ghana Police Service through an undercover operation has arrested the alleged killers of the young soldier without causing harm to innocent citizens.
The action of the police has won the admiration of many Ghanaians who have taken to social media to praise the Dr. Dampare-led Police Service.
Many people who reacted to the news expressed their amazement at the tact and brilliance with which the police worked to round up the alleged killers.
However, the military who had earlier gone on a rampage but failed the arrest the actors were not left in this. Subtle jabs were thrown at them condemning their brutish and “machoic” approach to all situations.
